Have you noticed something different about the Hymnals? We have been working on bookmarks and we hope all hymnals will have one by the time you are reading this newsletter. We marked some of our most used pages for your convenience. “A Service of Word and Table II” (Communion), The Nicene Creed and the Apostle’s Creed – Traditional Version and Baptismal Covenant I are all marked for your convenience. While not everyone uses the Hymnal every Sunday, some do and the extra ribbons are for the convenience of those using them to mark the Hymns. Moreover, we never know when we may all have to use them due to circumstances beyond our control. Our group hopes that you will enjoy these markers.
The JOY Group sends out a BIG THANK YOU to Carol Pierce and her family for the donation of a sewing machine and to Sally Lannom and her family for the donations of a sewing machine and material and other sewing notions. Both of these donations will help us make more items to give to those in need.
If you know of someone who uses a walker and would like to have a bag to attach to the walker, please see one of our JOY Group members. We have several bags that are ready to find a home. The bag has pockets to hold glasses, small books, tissues, etc.
In addition, the prayer blanket is something that we will make for someone dealing with health problems, grief, a family crisis or some other type of issue. We have placed an information page that explains how to receive the walker bag and blanket on the table in the Foyer.
We are asking your help to donate school supplies to the Fern Norville Children’s Shelter in Kaufman. Look for our tub in the Foyer and in the Family Life Center. Walmart is already putting school supplies out and it is a great time to purchase them. School will begin before we know it and we want to help the children start with plenty of supplies.
The work of the Joy Mission group would not be possible without all the items donated by this congregation. We thank each of you for all that you have done to help make this little group be able to do all we do.
