Jesus Dines with US
According to the Bible, Jesus ate a lot. Specifically, he ate a lot with others. I know of no Biblical passages where it was recorded that he ate alone. In Luke 14:15 Jesus proclaims, “Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast of the kingdom of God.” We see a glimpse of Jesus’ vision of his people feasting together in God’s Kingdom. We see a glimpse of this heavenly meal in the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion. When we gather on the first Sunday of the month to celebrate Communion together it is our firm belief that the Lord Jesus is in our midst. He joins us at the table.
We have another opportunity to eat together as Christ’s body. Beginning Wednesday night September 4th at 6:00pm we start up our Church fellowship meals. There will be opportunities for children’s recreation and learning as well as a gathering of the youth after the meal. In addition, there is an adult Bible study in the fellowship hall led by Jimmy Weaver.
Not to forget, our children’s choirs will be at 5pm for the wee praise and 5:30pm for the king’s singers prior to meal. Chancel Choir begins after our meal at 6:30pm.
Please join us Wednesday the 4th and each Wednesday after for a time of fellowship and enrichment. Remember in Matthew 18:20 Jesus tells us that “where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
