Church Family,
This week is our final week of our Holiness series, a series on the Global Methodist Church Mission Statement. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness. We have talked about scriptural holiness and being a part of a sanctified community. This Sunday, we will talk about what it is to make Disciples. When we take our membership vows, we vow to give of our “prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.” What does that mean? We will explore that on Sunday. Hope to see you there!
I have included some information on changes in leadership in our conference. There have been two full time positions added. Rev. Jim Noble will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the Mid Tex Annual Conference and Rev. Ryan Barnett will serve as the Connectional Operations Officer.
Bishop Kenneth Livingston is our new Bishop and Bishop Leah Hidde-Gregory will serve as our Conference Superintendent on top of her duties as Bishop in other Annual Conferences.
One other change is that we are no longer in Covenant Area 3, but are now considered the North East District of the Mid Texas Annual Conference. The zone remains the same, but the language was changed to District instead of Covenant area. There is a hope that we will gather as a district four times a year, so be on the lookout for those gatherings.
Speaking of gatherings, we will be gathering for our Charge Conference on November 30th at First Methodist Mabank for lunch and worship. We hope to see you there! Our church is in charge of bringing desserts.
Who are you inviting to church this week?
Blessings,
Pastor Hayley
