Dear Brothers and Sisters,
First Methodist of Forney growing in community outreach, discipleship, and numbers. The Church has prepared a budget for next year to underwrite the ministries that will allow us to continue this growth. The goal of our stewardship campaign is to ensure that the church has the financial resources to fully underwrite its ministries.
The Church’s Finance Committee maintains funds for general operations, missions, debt servicing, and campus maintenance and improvement. Our current stewardship campaign focuses on the TOTAL FINANCIAL GIFTS to underwrite these funds for next year. So, your pledge should include the total of your financial gift to the church whether for the general fund or some other purpose. For those of you who wish to give only certain funds, you may still accomplish this by noting your wish on the check or giving to the specific fund on Vanco, our online method of giving (This is unchanged from our current practice).
A few thoughts on preparing your pledge.
➢ Your pledge will be a blessing to you. As it says in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
➢ Pledging helps you embrace the spiritual discipline of regular, faithful giving. Like prayer, scripture reading, fasting, and dedication to service, the practice of giving regularly and intentionally helps you grow in faith and mature spiritually.
➢ A pledge is a promise between you and God shared with your church for the purpose of being more faithful, accountable, and generous. A pledge can be modified if your circumstances change.
Please make a prayerful decision to support the Church with your gift as you are able. We have commitment cards available that we will prayerfully complete and lay on the prayer rails on Sunday, December 15.
In Christ,
Doug Wilson
Treasurer
