Church Family,
Have you ever taken a picture of a beautiful sunset and thought, “The picture doesn’t do it justice!” There are amazing moments, like beautiful sunsets or the northern lights, that you just have to see for yourself in person.
I have always wondered what the transfiguration of Christ was really like. There are so many artists who have tried to recreate what they imagine it would have looked like. I think we can all agree that it was one of those, “You just had to be there,” moments. We know the disciples who were with Jesus surely thought so because they didn’t want to leave.
The presence of Jesus should evoke these feelings. The transfiguration of Christ is about astonishment and awe. It is about the presence and divinity of Jesus on display. As we prepare for coming together in worship on Sunday, for communion Sunday, may we be expectant to meet Jesus at his table.
I am very excited to share with you that we have an amazing new secretary that has started this week! Her name is Megan Skinner and you can find out more about her below. Please stop by the office when you get a chance to welcome her to the team. She has a heart for the Lord and the local church. That is reflected in her work already.
I hope to see you at church on Sunday!
Blessings,
Pastor Hayley
