JOY would like to take a moment to thank the congregation for all the support we are given to accomplish our local missions. I’m sure you are all aware that we assemble the prayer blankets, but we would like to share some of our Christmas projects. Our gifts to the nursing homes were well received, especially at Ridgecrest where they remembered us from previous years. We even had several hugs from staff members. We provided sewn bags of treats (regular and diabetic) for all the residents able to have them, some lap robes, and adult food protectors. For the residents with no family, we brought small gift bags so no one would be forgotten. The Norville Children’s Shelter received your generous support for the kids. We assembled small bags of appreciation for our preschool teachers, as well as treats for our shut-ins. Some of our upcoming plans include putting together Valentine’s bags for the Women at the Genesis Center, filling Easter eggs for our church egg hunt (any donations of hard candy are welcome) plus I’m sure we will be creating more blankets.
