Church Family,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I am off through Monday and Chris Krager will be preaching this Sunday! You’re in for a real treat. We also have Rev. Dr. Stan Scott leading us in communion this Sunday. Stan has been worshiping with us on communion Sundays this year. He and a team are working on a GMC church plant in Rockwall. I know you will be blessed by his officiating of communion.

This last Sunday, we had a beautiful serving of hanging of the greens. Thank you to everyone who played a role in that and everyone who participated in hanging up our greens and Chrismon’s.

This Saturday is our Christmas Market (AKA God’s Market) from 10am-3pm in the Family Life Center. Come for Lunch, desserts, and LOTS of Shopping!

On December 9th, our church will be hosting the annual Church Conference for our Covenant Area. Instead of Districts, we now have small clusters of churches called Covenant Areas. We are in Covenant Area 3! Please mark your Calendar and plan to be in attendance. It will be at 10 am on that Saturday. We will have a worship service, approve paperwork, and share lunch together. The GMC church is Mabank is smoking pork for us. It should be a great time! Melissa is putting together a combined Choir. Please let her know if you would like to join!

Looking ahead for next year, we will be starting Confirmation in the Spring for our 8th graders and anyone older that hasn’t been able to participate in the past. I will be sending out more information for that as well. Another goal of mine for the New Year, that I know is a hope for this church, is to have an intentional prayer team. This is a church that prays and we need to lean into that strength even more. Starting in January, I will begin hosting weekly prayer gatherings in the Sanctuary as this team begins to form. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to me.

This Sunday, we will begin our new Sermon Series for Advent, “With us.” Our passage comes from Luke 1: 26-38. You can check out our latest sermons here on our webpage.
